How You Can Help Us
As a donor, you have the opportunity to help support the clubs in a few different ways. We wish to make it as easy as possible for those of you that have the desire to contribute. Thank you for your support!
For sustainability purposes, the Palala Girls and Boys Clubs prefer material donations instead of monetary. While this is increased difficulty for donors, we feel that this is the best option available to keep these programs running smoothly and efficiently.
If you who are wondering why we express this preference, there are multiple reasons. The Palala Girls and Boys Clubs are located in very rural areas. This creates considerable difficulty for obtaining supplies from town when someone would have to take a full day trip on public transport to purchase supplies that may or may not be in stock. Also, money management has always been an issue when put into the hands of people living in poverty. While we trust the leaders of the clubs fully, we feel that free hand-outs of money would lead to possible corruption of leadership and divisions of the programs. Our leaders understand the importance and privilege of being a volunteer, and we want to support them without tempting them. Also, by receiving packages of supplies for specific crafts, this ensures that the donation you are making will be used for the purpose you intended and no other. There is security in this option for you, the donor.
