Apron Sales

The Palala Clubs are now sewing and selling traditional African aprons using South African Da Gama fabrics. They are a one-size-fits-all pattern (however, we have a special youth size if requested) and have one to two pockets depending on the fabric design.

In the photo, a Palala Girls Club leader and her daughters are displaying just a few of the more vibrant fabric designs to show what they look like when worn. We also make aprons using the more traditional brown and blue Da Gama fabrics (including Mandela pockets if requested). In addition, we do have the capability of monogramming/personalizing the aprons with names if ordered with sufficient advance notice. The costs are as followed**:

  • Adult Aprons: R100 ($15)
  • Adult Aprons with Monogramming: R110 ($17)
  • Youth Aprons: R70 ($10)
  • Youth Aprons with Monogramming: R80 ($12)

Each apron is distributed in a matching bag, made from the same fabrics. This bag is provided as a free gift with each purchase. You will also find a tag attached that lists the necessary care instructions.

Here are the current apron fabric choices. (Please check back often as these choices will be updated on a regular basis.) You can refer to the corresponding numbers when placing an order. Click on the collection below to see it larger. (The numbers in parentheses are the quantities we currently have in stock.)

This is the optional Mandela pocket to add to any of the blue or brown traditional apron fabrics:

**Aprons made from fabrics #28, 29, 41, 42 are sold at the higher cost of R150 ($20) each because the Madiba Range of fabric from Da Gama has been discontinued and is no longer being printed. These aprons are available only while supplies last and cannot be restocked once we are sold-out.

Placing Your Order

We would appreciate anyone interested in purchasing an apron to send us an email at palalaclubs@gmail.com. Please refer to the fabric # for each individual apron and let us know your payment preference (see below).

In order to pay for your apron(s), you have three different options available:

  1. If you are going to be seeing the Johnsons or Vigs in the near future, please make plans accordingly to give them your money in person.
  2. To pay with a credit card, we will send you a detailed invoice via email. The invoice will allow you to make an easy payment using PayPal online. Please just let us know you wish to pay with a credit card when placing your order.
  3. If you are in South Africa, you can simply make use of a bank transfer to provide us with the funds. We will send you the appropriate bank details when you place your order and specify bank transfer as your payment preference.
